Dr. Sanjib Kumar Acharya has a varied academic background belonging to pure science, social sciences, and management. The schooling and intermediate college academics were based on the pure science stream. The Graduation and Post Graduation was successfully completed from Ramjas College, Delhi University, New Delhi in Political Science(Hons) in 1981. Subsequently, he completed his MPhil and Ph.D. in International Relations from the School Of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU) in 1989 with additional research experience from the University of Toronto and McGill University, Canada. During his early working career, he had the privilege of acquiring an MBA in Marketing from New Port University, USA in 1998. He has a deep interest and apt in Applied Psychology. 

 

His initial career in education and research began by having the honor of becoming a member of the teaching faculty for three years till 1989 in the Department of Chinese Studies of the School Of International Studies at JNU, New Delhi. Then he had an opportunity to join the teaching fraternity of IGNOU, New Delhi. He worked as Academic Consultant for two years from 1990 to 1992 in the academic division of the School Of Social Sciences at the Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi.  Subsequently from 1993 to 1995, he was the Chief Executive of Erose Educational Infotech, New Delhi, a premier Educational Training Organisation, in the teaching, counseling, and administrative work profile. He had an opportunity to hold the post of full-time Director of Vision School Of Management, New Delhi approved by the AICTE, Govt. of India for imparting regular Business Management course through Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), equivalent to MBA, on several specializations from 1996 to 2001. As the Head of the Institution, he was responsible for the overall development and growth of the Institute at all fronts including Academics, Research, Placements, Industry Institute Interface, Social Outreach, Alumni Relations, Consultancy, Grooming of the students, Institutional collaborations, etc., other than administrative and teaching assignments. During his six years tenure, hundreds of students had successfully completed their PGDM course and were employed in various established organizations in different work domains. In the quest of becoming an entrepreneur, he became one of the Founder Directors of "Pratham Edusys Pvt. Ltd", New Delhi in 2002. The organization's main focus has been to promote student awareness in the various Universities and Colleges' admission processes, Career Counseling and Guidance, publications of Career Articles, etc. through its website admissionnews.com. In the initial years 2002 to 2006 a student monthly magazine "Admission News" was published from its Delhi office and he was the Chief Editor of the magazine. He has been associated with various Print Media, All India Radio, TV Channels, Internet Media, particularly on Career Counseling and Guidance. To his credit, he has presented various research articles in International Politics, Trade, Marketing, and Career Development in various National and International forums. 

 

The journey of his Career Counseling to students, parents, and working persons started as a full-time profession in 2002 under his own business venture in the name "Dr. Acharya Career Counseling Centre" and since then he has counseled thousands of students and conducted hundreds of Career Counseling workshops in Schools, Colleges, Organisations, etc.  Career Counseling all along his career journey has remained his passion and enjoyable profession for which he is one of the topmost career counselors in India with his vast knowledge and experience in Career Counseling and Education.
